Derrick “Tokyo Dee” Stoudymire

Tokyo Dee is a 25 year-old entertainer and songwriter residing in New York City. Born D. Stoudymire Jr. in Harlem, he has been surrounded around the entertainment industry.  He began writing music, performing and hosting shows, just before graduating from Manhattan Center High School; home of notable alumni such as Damon Dash, Cam’ron, Sanaa Lathan & Mehki Phifer. He received his first break on Wilmer Valdarama’s show “Yo Momma (Season 2)” which premiered on MTV and can currently be seen in syndication on MTV2. He later attended St. John’s University which was also home to successful hip-hop artists, such as DMC (Run-DMC), and J.Cole before transferring to CUNY Lehman College to finish his collegiate career. A newly initiated member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. he follows the motto of “work hard, play hard” as he is heavily involved in volunteer work and community activism, while being equally involved in a lucrative event planning and promotion business. Considered by his peers to be a social networking guru, he has acquired 40,000 fans and over 1 million song plays on Myspace, 10,000 followers on twitter and 5,000 Facebook friends (the maximum # for a profile).
